FAQ

What insurances do you accept?

We accept PPO insurances and some POS insurances. We are no longer contracted providers of Blue Shield of California (as of 11/16/15) or Cigna (effective 3/15/16). Please call Adcare Plus and ask us about your specific insurance plan.

What do I need to bring with me to my first visit?

Please bring your current insurance card and your previous medical records. If you cannot obtain your comprehensive medical records before your first visit, please at least bring your immunization records.

How long do appointments take?

Depending on what the appointment is for, appointments can take anywhere from fifteen minutes to an hour. Basic sick visits (sore throats, earaches, etc.) usually take no more than 20 minutes. Annual physicals will usually take an hour.

Do you draw blood in the office?

We do not draw blood in our office but Dr. Lowe can write a lab request for patients if they need it.

Can I come by myself?

For the first visit, patients under 18 are encouraged to come with a parent or guardian. Dr. Lowe will be gathering medical history information and having an adult there will make this process faster and more efficient.

What ages does Dr. Lowe see?

We accept patients ages 12-26, but we will make exceptions for children 10 years and older if they have older siblings who are patients in the practice.

Do you have walk-in hours?

No, we encourage patients to call ahead and schedule appointments.

How often do I need a physical?

We follow the AMA Guidelines for Adolescent Preventative Services in scheduling yearly comprehensive physical examinations of all patients 12-21 years old. This gives adequate monitoring of the rapid changes that occur during this time plus helps to establish a trusting relationship with our patients and their families.

How often do I need immunizations?

We follow CDC guidelines for immunizations. Check the CDC website to see if you are up to date.
